I agree with you completely.
Brandon Flowers actually says what people are thinking because he has the guts to do it and people dislike him for it. Pathetic.
Performance is amazing.

I do believe in helping others. But, it is not the governments job to take my money or other people's money and redistribute it. Governments are not God. They are completely faulty and in every case the government runs something, it doesn't work. Medicare, social security, and welfare are three ways the government "helps" people, but the money gets used for other things, and in many many cases it gets lost.

I fully believe that local churches can take benevolent offerings once a month and people can give freely and that money can be used to help those in the community with need. Also, I believe strongly that people should volunteer their time to give clothes to the poor and food to the hungry. That widows and orphans should be a priority and are at the heart of God's mercy and grace.

If the government is taking my money and other people's money, then for those who do have real faith are unable to use it in a way that is glorifying God. They then have no idea what it is being used for.

And yes, I concede that many do not give. To them, I would say that their faith is small and selfish. That they will have to face their Maker and it will not be happy.
